Navigating the Web
As you move your mouse pointer over the page, it will change from an arrow to an I-beam to a hand.
In its arrow form it moves over the page, indicating its position. On this page, when the pointer is not on the text it displays as an arrow. On some pages, if you hold the pointer still on a picture, a Tool-tip will appear. Try hovering over a picture or a link - some will have a tool-tip.
In its I-beam form you can copy things by holding down the left button as you move the pointer or by holding down the shift key and using your keyboard arrows, and then copying the highlighted area. On this page, when the pointer is on the text it displays as an I-beam.
In its hand form it indicates a link to another page and clicking on a link will take you to that page. On this page, move the pointer over any underlined area and the pointer changes to a hand.
| Most links on this website are shown underlined. Whenever the pointer changes to a hand as you move it over the page, clicking will take you to the linked item. Sometimes pictures act as links, like this button. Many links and pictures have a Tool-Tip attached and hovering over them will give some useful information. |
